Dear Congregants,

Once again Congregation Beth Am will publish a Book of Remembrance to enhance the beauty and dignity of the Yizkor Memorial Service on the holy day of Yom Kippur. The Book of Remembrance contains special readings and a listing of our own beloved departed whom we wish to remember at this sacred time of the year.

A most appropriate way of honoring the memory of your loved one is to combine the obligation of reciting the Yizkor prayers with the mitzvah of tzedakah as a living tribute, in the amount of "Hai" ($18) or multiples of "Hai" representing the continuity of life.

The deadline for submitting Book of Remembrance forms is Monday, September 22, 2008. So please take a moment now to fill out the form and send it back to the Synagogue office. Or you may e-mail Susan Schaffer-Mualim (susan@betham.com) with your information.
