Mission Statement

Beth Am Preschool strives to provide our children with the basic building blocks of early education through a program that is rich in Jewish values, culture and traditions.

Philosophy

Beth Am Preschool embraces the philosophy that through an environment filled with warmth, respect and imagination we can foster the development of the "whole" child.  We focus on the social-emotional, cognitive, physical and spiritual well being of each child.  It is our belief that by learning through play, children are empowered to reach the goals of our early childhood education program.  Our nurturing environment provides opportunities for exploration, discovery and hands-on experiences at each developmental level.

Beth Am Preschool is committed to helping children become independent learners whose self-esteem and self-confidence will enhance their ability to explore the world around them.

Beth Am Preschool provides an environment in which children come first and each child feels unique and encouraged to reach his/her own potential.  We encourage parent involvement and strive to establish a strong link between school and home.

Parent Participation Classes

Beth Am Preschool is proud to offer a variety of classes for newborns and toddlers.  Parent participation classes are taught by an infant and toddler specialist, and include a Shabbat celebration, arts and crafts, story time, and playground activities.  The classes offer a wonderful opportunity for extending your Jewish family connections with other families.  Your child will easily transition from this class to our traditional preschool.  A particularly exciting component of the classes is the music circle, led by our music specialist. Teachers

In keeping with our school philosophy, Beth Am Preschool provides an environment in which children come first and each child feels unique and encouraged to reach his/her own potential.  This is a warm, nurturing and welcoming environment created by our trained and dedicated teaching team.  All teachers and assistant teachers meet, and in most cases exceed, the State of California requirements for early childhood education.  Beth Am Preschool strives to retain teachers for many years.  As the school enters its second decade, we are proud that many of our teachers have been with the school for over five years.

Specialty Instructors

Our preschool curriculum is enriched weekly by trained specialty teachers.  Each class enjoys twice-weekly music lessons with our music and movement specialists, as well as, a weekly lesson with our physical education instructor.  In addition, the entire school experiences a Shabbat celebration with Rabbi Kornberg and Rabbi Earne in the Synagogue.  The Gesher program is afforded the opportunity to visit the library and computer lab and participate in a weekly yoga class.

Enrichment Classes

Optional Enrichment Programs are offered to students in the 3, 4 and 5 year old classes.  They are held after school hours and are taught by specialty teachers and coaches.

Classes include: Music Together, J.W. Tumbles, Mad Science, Karate, Soccer, Ballet, Drama, Playball, Radical Reptiles, and Yoga for Kids.
