Head Coverings & Prayer Shawls. In keeping with Jewish traditions, head coverings (kippot) are REQUIRED for all males on the Synagogue grounds. Females must wear a head covering while at the Bimah or called up for any honor. All Jewish males over the age of 13 generally wear a prayer shawl (tallit) on Saturday mornings, as do Jewish females who have taken on this mitzvah. Females must have their shoulders and middrifts covered.
