Bios 

Rebecca Barr  is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, who has been practicing in San Diego since 1995. She maintains a private practice at the Fourth Avenue Professional Center. Her practice includes treatment of couples, families, individuals, and groups, with a particular emphasis on premarital counseling and prenatal marriage counseling. Rebecca received her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego and her Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Diego.

Eva-Lynn Diesenhaus is an artist and calligrapher who has studied with many teachers from around the world. Eva Lynn’s work has been exhibited throughout the country.  A past president of the Society for Calligraphy of Los Angeles, she is co-author of a calligraphic cookbook The Four Seasons.  Her work can also be seen in The Artful Book of Days and Enrich Your Calligraphy.

Rabbi Matthew Earne is the assistant Rabbi at Congregation Beth Am.  He earned his BA degree at Cornell University and his MA in Education from the University of Judaism. He received his rabbinic ordination from New York’s Jewish Theological Seminary.

Elisheva Edelson is originally from Monterrey, Mexico and has performed Jewish music from a young age. Internationally acclaimed, she has performed all over the world in Yiddish, Hebrew, Ladino, English, and Spanish. Elisheva graduated from the Yiddish-Hebrew Teachers Seminar in Mexico City and has taught Jewish history and music, Yiddish and Hebrew. Her teaching excellence has earned her the Advanced Pedagogic Award from the San Diego Agency of Jewish Education, the nationally prestigious Grinspoon-Steinhardt Award for excellence in Education and she is a Feinstein Fellow for Jewish History in America.  Elisheva is a religious instructor and Coordinator of Religious Programming at Congregation Beth Am.

Rabbi David Kornberg is the spiritual leader and senior rabbi at Congregation Beth Am.  He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Jewish Studies from UCSD and received his rabbinic ordination from New York's Jewish Theological Seminary. Prior to coming to Beth Am, Rabbi Kornberg provided pastoral care to seriously ill patients.  He was also Director of Chaplaincy for the Jewish Federation of Middlesex, New Jersey.

Hillary Liber began her teaching career in elementary and special education in 1973. She became an adult Bat Mitzvah in 1977 through private study with her rabbi. In 1984, after several years of working as a volunteer within the Jewish community, she became involved with Jewish education. She has been the featured guest at weekend retreats, she has taught one-night and long-term workshops for adults, and she has instructed students from ages 7 through 97. In the 1980's, Ms. Liber served as principal of Beth Am's Jewish Learning Center in Solana Beach, where she began work in curriculum development and educational planning. She has served as an adult and adolescent educator at Temple Solel in Encinitas as well as teaching at CBA.

Jeffrey Liber, Vice President / Investments and Trust Specialist has worked at A. G. Edwards & Sons, Inc. since 1997.  His mission is to provide outstanding financial service to clients who seek professional assistance in attaining their unique goals.  He has lived in San Diego County for 27 years with his wife, Hillary.  The Libers are charter members of Congregation Beth Am.

Sima Ross was born and raised in Shiraz, Iran and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1978. She has extensive catering experience. Sima is involved in a wide variety of Jewish community activities and has taught several classes on Middle Eastern cooking in schools and synagogues. Sima and her husband, Dr. Steven Ross, together with their 3 children, moved to San Diego in June 2004.
