Letters are introduced individually
Students learn to scan a line from right to left, matching , pre-reading skills

•  ALEF Emphasis letters and vowel
Text: Shalom Alef Bet (Pre-Primer) (BH)
Hebrew letters and vowels are introduced, as well as single syllable letter-vowel combinations.
One vocabulary word per chapter (ex: Kiddush for kuf)

•  BET Emphasis word formation
Text: Shalom U'Vrakha, The New Hebrew Primer (Primer) (BH)
Letters are presented through key words (ex: the three letters of Shabbat)
Phonetic syllables are presented. Siddur vocabulary is introduced.
Families are given the CD for this text.

•  GIMMEL Emphasis evening prayers, beginning Friday night
Gimmel begins with a Back to School Refresher book (BH), which concentrates on look-alike letters, final letters, etc.
