Sabra

Beth Am’s Sabra program aims to engage our post-B’nai Mitzvah students in an atmosphere of continued Jewish learning and social growth. Join us each Monday night to learn valuable skills and strengthen your Jewish identity. As the sabra cactus grows sweet and nourishing on the inside and is resilient in any climate, so too do our teens grow through strength and perseverance in times of change. Being Jewish is more than just following rituals and traditions; your teen wants to understand, embrace, and become more connected to Judaism. Sabra’s goal is to provide the tools needed to succeed and blossom into strong Jewish adults. The Beth Am Sabra program includes Judaic classes along with Academic Honors credit for SDJA students. Sabra offers Judaic core classes and a variety of elective classes. Below is the information about the scheduled core and elective programs.

I like Sabra because there are so many choices for electives and I get to hang out with my friends!    ~ Luke Talman

Our Mission

To create an atmosphere for students to strengthen their Jewish identity. This will be accomplished by both engaging our pre/post B’nai Mitzvah in active Jewish learning and empowering the students to apply the skills and values they gain from the classroom into their community. Classroom activities will include:

  • Active learning projects
  • Social bonding activities
  • Inspiring guest speakers

As the Sabra Cactus grows sweet and nourishing on the inside and is resilient to any climate, so, too, our teens grow through strength and perseverance in times of change. At Sabra, our goal is to prepare students for this journey.
