You are here

Prayer, holiday celebration, and spiritual fulfillment are a key focal point at Beth Am. Our Congregation offers an array of services and worship opportunities.

Daily Minyans, weekly Shabbats, High Holy Days, traditional observances, musical gatherings or Torah study. No matter what you’re looking for – joy, devotion, self-reflection, renewal – you’ll find it. See the event calendar.

Summer Minyan (June 1 - August 31)
Monday- Thursday @ 6:00 pm – Beit Midrash
Sunday @ 9:15 am – Sanctuary

During the summer, we have a harder time getting a quorum, so please help us.

Come together with the Beth Am family daily from Monday to Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, enabling those who are mourning or observing a Yahrzeit to recite the Kaddish prayer, which can only be done in the presence of a quorum (ten or more adults over the age of Bar/Bat Mitzvah). Your presence, therefore, honors both the deceased and the living. During the summer, the Minyan times change, so please check the calendar

Daily Minyan
Monday-Thursday @ 6:00 pm – Beit Midrash
Sunday @ 10:30 am - Lizerbram Family Sanctuary when JLC is in session, otherwise int he Beit Midrash

Traditional Erev Shabbat Service
2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th Friday nights @ 7:00 pm – Sanctuary

Welcome Shabbat with us as we journey together through the traditional Friday night service. With each page we turn and song we sing, we come together in fellowship and open our hearts in prayer. Please join us, as your presence enhances our prayers and enhances our Shabbat.

Campfire Shabbat
1st Friday of the month @ 7:00 pm – Arch Courtyard

Bring Shabbat in with a very family-friendly musical service outdoors around a campfire in our beautiful courtyard. This spiritual, uplifting service, led by Rabbi David Kornberg and Ephron Rosenzweig on guitar, features lots of fun, camp-style songs. And there’s hot cider, too!

Family Tot Shabbat Service
Most 4th Friday of the month (check event calendar) @ 5:45 pm
– Lizerbram Family Sanctuary

Join us for an engaging Shabbat service for our families with tots. Together, we welcome Shabbat with music, stories, and song led by Rabbi Earne and Penny Cohen.

Shabbat Service
Every Saturday morning @ 9:00 am – Lizerbram Family Sanctuary

Every Saturday morning, our Sanctuary is filled with people who come from the four (4) corners of San Diego. We are blessed with a very active laity who lead us in prayer and read our sacred story for us. (Please let us know if you would like to join this group.) In addition, Rabbi Kornberg and Rabbi Earne offer lively discussions and insights that bring our Torah to life. Join us. We would love to have your voice(s) enhance our prayers and discussions. Our Synagogue strives to create a safe place for you to engage in a sacred dialogue with G-d and your soul.

Beit Midrash Minyan
Most Saturday mornings at 9:30 am – Beit Midrash
Check calendar to confirm specific dates.

The Beit Midrash Minyan is a traditional, lay-led, egalitarian, Shabbat morning service at which all are welcome. The service emphasizes kavannah —focused, meaningful, engaging, participatory prayer. Members of the Minyan have ongoing opportunities to read Torah, chant the haftarah, lead part of the service or share a dvar Torah.  Click here to learn more.
