Services. Tefilah and spirituality for the entire family.
Prayer, holiday celebrations, and spiritual fulfillment are a key focal point at Congregation Beth Am. Our synagogue offers an array of services and worship opportunities.
Daily minyanim, weekly Shabbats, High Holy Days, traditional observances, musical gatherings or Torah study, no matter what you’re looking for – joy, devotion, self-reflection, renewal – you’ll find it.
Daily Minyan
Mondays - Thursdays | 6:00 pm
Location: Beit Midrash
Sundays (September - May) | 10:30 am & (June - August) | 9:15 am
Location: Lizerbram Family Sanctuary when JLC is in session, otherwise in the Beit Midrash
Come together with the Beth Am family daily from Monday to Thursday evenings and Sunday mornings, enabling those who are mourning or observing a Yahrzeit to recite the Kaddish prayer, which can only be done in the presence of a quorum (ten or more adults over the age of Bar/Bat Mitzvah). Your presence, therefore, honors both the deceased and the living. When there are Jewish and national holidays observed, please check our main calendar to confirm if there is a minyan or not. Thank you.
Sunrise Minyan
Wednesdays | 7:00 am (6:45 am when it falls on Rosh Hodesh)

Join us for our Sunrise Minyan as we wrap tefilin and worship together, centering ourselves on the sacred values of goodness, peace, and community. Stay afterwards and enjoy a coffee and a conversation with friends before you start the new day.

Welcome Shabbat with a very family-friendly outdoor musical service around a campfire in our beautiful courtyard. This spiritual, uplifting service, led by Rabbi David Kornberg and Ephron Rosenzweig on guitar, features lots of fun, camp-style songs. And there’s hot cider, too!

Welcome Shabbat with us as we journey together through the traditional Friday night service. With each page we turn and song we sing, we come together in fellowship and open our hearts in prayer. Please join us, as your presence strengthens our prayers and enhances our Shabbat.
Shabbat Morning Service
Saturday | 9:00 am
Location: Lizerbram Family Sanctuary
Every Saturday morning, our Sanctuary is filled with people who come from the four (4) corners of San Diego. We are blessed with a very active laity who lead us in prayer and read our sacred story for us. (Please let us know if you would like to join this group.) In addition, Rabbi Kornberg and Rabbi Earne offer lively discussions and insights that bring our Torah to life. Join us. We would love to have your voice(s) enhance our prayers and discussions. Our synagogue strives to create a safe place for you to engage in a sacred dialogue with God and your soul.
Beit Midrash Minyan
Most Saturday mornings | 9:15 am

Zimrat Yah Service
Saturday| 10:45 am (held monthly - check calendar for next service)

Join us for Zimrat Yah, a new meditative and musical Shabbat experience. Once a month, on Shabbat mornings at 10:45am, Rabbi Kornberg, Eph, Rachel and Steve will lead this melodic journey and give us all a chance to center and connect.
Shabbat for Kids
Shabbat should be celebrated with the whole family. We offer babysitting so parents with young ones can relax and enjoy Shabbat, and special programs so children can enjoy how special Shabbat is from a very early age.
Then these are the 2 areas:
Shabbat Babysitting
For children ages 2 – 5 (K)
Every Saturday from 9:30 – 11:30 am
Congregation Beth Am offers regular Shabbat morning babysitting to any family attending services. Whether you come regularly or are here for a special family event, you can relax and enjoy services knowing your little one is having fun and being well cared for.
Junior Congregation
For 1st – 3rd graders
Every Saturday from 10:30 – 11:30 am
At Junior Congregation, children will experience a meaningful Shabbat morning service. This engaging service includes tefilah (prayer), shira (songs), and Torah. Junior Congregation joins the main sanctuary service at 11:20 am to participate in concluding prayers, Kiddush and Motzi.
